ORIGINALLY THREE SEPERATE BUILDINGS, THE OLDEST DATING BACK MORE THAN 200 YEARS, TRULLO BELLISSIMO HAS BEEN SYMPATHETICALLY RESTORED TO OFFER A SPECIAL 21st CENTURY VACATION EXPERIENCE.

INTERNAL STONE WALLS, ARCHED OPENINGS, CONICAL AND VAULTED CEILINGS HAVE ALL BEEN REVEALED TO SHOW THE HISTORY OF THESE UNIQUE BUILDINGS.

Trullo Bellissimo is set within her own olive grove just off the main road from Ostuni to Martina Franca and nestles in a 1 acre olive grove.  Originally 3 buildings now joined, the wonderful old trullo is now a bedroom, the vaulted centre lamia is the dining room, living room and kitchen, and the newest part a second bedroom.

Ingeniously our builder, Giovanni, has cut into the stone walls which were 2 metres thick in places, to create three new living areas.  There is an ethnic room, a beautiful kitchen, and second bathroom all created from within the old walls!  Unlike many other properties, we haven’t sandblasted the internal stonework into oblivion, but allowed all the fantastic natural striations of colour to show through.

Centrally heated throughout and offering a ‘stufe a pilletti’ which is a pellet stove to you and me, producing 7kw of heat, you will never be cold, even out of season.  Both shower rooms have huge 9 inch rose heads, and the trullo bathroom is clad entirely in rosy pearl marble.

External Features:
External stonework has been totally reworked by hand, and, although there was much huffing and puffing with Giovanni about a yellow and blue trullo, Bellissimo is a stunning confection of dairy cream washed walls, and sumptuous Moroccan style blue ironwork to the windows and doors.  A lower patio complete with 3 metre, single slab marble table, purpose built outdoor kitchen and barbecue, will probably allow the whole neighbourhood to dine in style should you wish.  All the terraces are laid in the most stunning terracotta and umber sandstone, and the 10x5 metres swimming pool, in wonderful blue iridescent mosaic has stone steps leading into the shallow end.  A second top terrace covered in foliage, is perfect for when the days are just too hot.  The gardens, pool and terraces are embraced by lighting on all levels for your evening dining and cocktails.

Living Area:
Accessed from the principal glass doors which open wide onto the front terrace, the central living area offers a fully-fitted kitchen.  The living room is open plan to the kitchen and has a ‘stufe a pilletti’ in the original fireplace. The dining area (seating 6) is just to the rear of the main living area and leads into the ethnic room.

Ethnic  Room:
Stolen from the old stone walls, this room has a wrought iron daybed, and is dressed in sumptuous oriental fabrics and wall hangings. This is Moira’s idea of the perfect place to pick up a book and do just about nothing.

Trullo Bedroom:
With two smaller cone alcoves and a large central cone, we have continued with the ethnic feel.  A low wrought iron double bed and daybed are complemented by oriental fabrics, an Arab coffee table and big cushions to nestle on, under the gentle breeze of a large ceiling fan. The bedroom leads direct into the shower/wet room clad in rose marble, a walk in shower with attachments, toilet, heated shower rail and beautiful sink carved from granite, sitting on a pedestal of marble.  The trullo has its own door to the front patio, but is also reached from the ethnic room.

Lamia bedroom:
The newest part of the house, this bedroom boasts a huge four poster bed, complete with drapes, glazed Italian floor tiles and a ceiling fan.  A small vestibule with large wardrobe leads into the second bathroom with stunning blue and green glass mosaic tiles lining the walls, a walk in shower, hand crafted washbasin, bidet, toilet and heated towel rail.

Laundry Room:
Just to the side of the house is what used to be the old storehouse, but now totally refurbished, it offers a washing machine and ironing facilities.
