With restoration completed in April 2009, Trullo Bellissimo, a bijou experience, is now ready to welcome you to its unique blend of luxury and ethnic charm. The property, with two double bedrooms, will comfortably accommodate 4 people. Two daybeds offer additional flexibility, if required.
Set in her own olive grove, with stunning terraces, gardens and swimming pool, Trullo Bellissimo offers the ideal location to explore and enjoy the culture, food and people of Puglia.
The owners of Trullo Bellissimo are Keith and Moira who live in Somerset, England. Having travelled to the north of Italy and Rome for many years, Moira read ‘Christ Stopped at Eboli’ by the great physician, painter, parliamentarian and novelist, Carlo Levi, which detailed in such heart-rending prose his internal exile in the south, during the early years of Mussolini, the poverty and humanity of its people. So Moira said, we must go south – I want to meet these people. And so we did. The rest is the history of Trullo Bellissimo. Much has changed, except of course the people!
So, welcome to Trullo Bellissimo. We have given her this name because we honestly believe that she really is such a pretty girl. When first we bought her two years ago, she was in such a sad and sorry state (as you will see from the renovation booklet if you visit us). Yet, we believed that there was a beautiful lady waiting to emerge from the chaos that was her shell. We have spent much time and love renovating Bellissimo, we are certain it shines through, and she has repaid us time and again with her ability to show us the best there is.

Set in her own olive grove, surrounded by fig, almond, pomegranate, pear and quince, in the countryside outside Ostuni, Puglia, Bellissimo sits alone, in total privacy offering you peace and comfort.
Most furniture and fittings have been privately commissioned, from the Sicilian tiles baked from the volcanic rock of Mount Etna in the kitchen, to Iranian marble on the floors and bathroom walls, and locally commissioned ironwork for the bedroom and living areas. Soft furnishings include beadwork, and crochet (bedspreads and curtains crocheted by Moira), Indian wall hangings, plus quality glassware and china.

Last, but not least the external amenities, a sun terrace with seating for those ‘sundowner’ moments looking over olive groves to Cisternino, where the sun sets in a blaze of glory, a lower terrace with a huge marble dining table and outdoor kitchen with barbeque. Both terraces are linked by your own private swimming pool, sun loungers and rustic shower.
I know you will love it all. She is such a pretty girl – come and spend some time with her.
